    The Power to
    Clean Up Your Sticky Floors

Have you ever struggled with impostor syndrome, perfectionism, fear, or burnout?

Success and fulfillment have always been the goal, but you find yourself stuck, making it impossible to move forward.

Women face unprecedented challenges in the workplace and find themselves staring up at the glass ceiling. But what if it wasn’t the glass ceiling that was holding you back . . . but rather your own “sticky floors”—those limiting beliefs and toxic behaviors that are within your control?

Erica is a sticky floor survivor. As a high-achieving ceiling breaker and C-level leader, she masked her struggles to everyone around her—even herself. From feelings of being an impostor to using wine to cope with burnout, it wasn’t until she was faced with the shocking reality that she could lose everything that she stared down her deeply held beliefs about being a “perfect” wife, mom, and executive. Ultimately, Erica was able to snap out of her sticky floors and find fulfillment, and uses her stories to help other women navigate their paths to success.

Snap Out of Your Sticky Floors

    Advanced Praise

“Erica’s book is a testament to the transformative power of embracing your potential and challenging the status quo. Her science-backed approach cuts through doubt, empowering you to shatter invisible barriers. For anyone stuck on their own ‘sticky floors,’ Erica offers a clear path to the life you envision. A must-read for the ambitious.”

Emma Green, CEO and founder, Your CEO Mentor

“As a successful woman who’s faced her own share of limiting beliefs, I understand the impact of ‘sticky floors.’ Erica Rooney’s four-step science-backed SNAP Method is a practical and powerful way to transform your mindset so that you create the life you want.”

Mel Robbins, CEO of 143 Studios, New York Times bestselling author, and host of The Mel Robbins Podcast

“We talk a lot about glass ceilings. But we don’t talk nearly enough about sticky floors. I love how Erica shifts our focus, energy, and power to the people, places, and programs that propel us forward. Through her proven method, you will notice the glimmers of the sticky floors exponentially more than the traumas involved in the broken glass ceilings. And that leads to sustainable, transformation change. That is how we hype women.”

Erin Gallagher, CEO and founder, Ella | Hype Women, executive producer and host, the Hype Women podcast

Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors digs into the unseen barriers that hold women back and often aren’t talked about, shedding light and giving hope to all the women who have stayed small and quiet for far too long. If you want to conquer self-doubt and redefine success, this is it!”

Kelsey Pumel Woods, domestic violence survivor and advocate, TikTok star, and entrepreneur

“With raw authenticity, Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors explores the unseen barriers that hold women back, offering a road map for personal growth. Erica’s story is a rallying cry for every woman seeking to conquer self-doubt and redefine success on her own terms.”

      • I want you to think about the last promotion you didn't go for.

You read the job description. You analyzed the requirements closer than you would have reviewed your tax return. You found the one thing you hadn't done yet - and that one gap became the whole reason you didn't apply.

Ya'll - don't act like you haven't done that! The data doesn't lie!

Here's what the research actually shows: women apply for a role when they close every single qualification gap. Men apply when they meet about half. (You know the study - it's broken down in my first book, Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors.)

The gap is not your competence. It's simply permission.

Men give it to themselves. In fact, they don't even think twice about it. But we wait to earn it. And while we're waiting, or while we are earning yet another certification to prove our worth, the role goes to someone who was no more qualified - just less convinced they had to prove themselves first.

My full rant is on Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors - on apple, spotify, and all the places.

Have you ever talked yourself out of a role before you even applied?

      • I started following Kay Allen-Carr when she was focused on Marketing and Google Analytics, because I had noooo idea what any of that world was.

Now, I have followed her into her new adventure, CollabAI. Mainly because I live the way her brain thinks. She’s a down to earth girl, knows her stuff, and isn’t afraid to try new things (also my vibe!)

We sat down to talk about what I call infinite possibilities- Kay shows you how to collab with AI (hence- CollabAI) so you can unlock those possibilities.

Plus she’s got a sweet deal for you that - if I were you- I’d take her up on.

      • Let's talk about the leaders who are hesitating on AI - which ... lets be real... there is a lot of them.

Two weeks ago, I sat down with Greg Boone and Marc Sirkin for a Walk West webinar on the AI decisions every C-suite leader has to make this year, and what I love to focus on isn't the tech piece (duh!!! I'm a Chief PEOPLE officer.)

It's a mindset piece, and its an issue these days!

Greg calls it the "great unlearning" and I call it the infinite possibilities mindset. When something is new or hard or frustrating, we get scared, and when we get scared we tend to do one of three things. We retreat, we freeze, OR...
... we believe in the power of infinite possibilities. 🤩

A lot of leaders are freezing or stepping away from AI right now, and I don't think it's because they can't learn it. I think it's because they are scared of feeling behind or looking foolish or getting it wrong in front of the people who report to them. (I literally had a CEO tell me once she wasn't going to let her team use it to "write better emails.")

I understand that fear because I lived in it for a long time. I never felt techy enough to be in these conversations, let alone lead them. But having AI at my fingertips changed something for me, because now everything feels figure-out-able, and the thing I was most scared of became the thing that made me brave.

This is the exact fear I wrote about in Glass Ceilings & Sticky Floors, where so much of what holds us back is the waiting and the hesitating until we finally feel ready enough to begin.

So if you are sitting in that hesitation with AI, I want you to be honest with yourself about which one you are doing. Are you retreating, are you freezing, or are you choosing to believe in what is possible?

      • I don’t know about you - but I do SWEAT the big stuff - and it is usually at night, when I’m trying to sleep, because, lets be real - perimenopause is a real thing!

I sat down with my girl, @tina_the_counseling_dietitian who is a registered dietician, and a counselor AND just took her MENOPAUSE certification to talk about ALL THESE DANG THINGS that are driving me nuts!

We are talking about: brain fog, weight gain, not feeling like yourself, the BILLIONS of dollars it costs us in the workplace, and HRT.

I could listen to her talk for HOURS - and we’ll do another live again soon! Drop your questions below so we can answer them next!

      • I'm back agaaaaaainnnnnnnn........!

Part 2! The Talent Collective could not get enough AI training, so they invited me back!
This time, we are building a Chief of Staff, together LIVE, that will help this group of recruiters track their tasks, close follow up loops, surface candidates that haven't been touched in {x} days, and MORE.

The group had a little pre-work to do, to make the build effective - but they will leave this hour with a fully build Agent that makes their workload easier the moment they click "create."
